We’re stoked you’re coming to Oasis Climbing for your first rock climb! Here is list of questions you may have:

👨🏻‍💻 Do I need to book:

  • Not for groups under 10 climbers. Just walk in and we will show you how to climb and belay 'hold the rope'

👶 Ages who can climb:

  • Children aged 4 years and above can fit into a harness and are welcome to climb
We set climbs aimed for kids 6 years and up

Our walls have lots of low holds for first-time monkeys, to be able to start thier climbing journey

  • Our oldest patrons are 83 years young and attend at least once a week Tuesdays, sometimes twice a week

👀 Overseeing your kids, parent-child ratio's:

  • We do not have any parent / supervisor ratio, as we have coaching staff and floor staff always rostered; however we recommend that parents stay and belay their kids. Its much more fun as a family

  • Kids over 6 years are welcome under supervision in the weight-gym and on the boulder wall. We do require someone over 18 years supervising, unless kids are enrolled in a course

👦 Ages who can climb:

  • Children aged 4 years and above can fit into a harness and are welcome to climb
We set climbs aimed for kids 6 years and up

🧗 Types of climbing:

  • Top rope with 10.5m high walls and over 80 top-rope climbs; grades 10 (easy) to 26 (hard)

  • Boulders are 5m high, with over 40 puzzles; grades v0 (easy) to V7+ (hard)

  • Lead Climbing for experienced climbers we offer over 30 lead routes, grades 18 to 30

💰 Prices for all-day entry:

  • See our Prices Page

  • Entries are full-day passes

  • Gear hire is extra (we welcome climbers to use their own climbing gear)

👟 Do I need to wear rock climbing shoes:

  • Yes.
For hygiene reasons, to stop the germs we step-in outside from going onto our hands. Also, the grip and feeling of the wall makes the entire experience significantly better. We can make exceptions in special circumstances if needed, especially for our neuro-spicy friends

🧢 What to Wear:

  • We suggest, to dress in shorts, loose pants, leggings, and sports tops for ease of movement. Bring socks. We have gear ready for your arrival and can provide you with a harness and climbing shoes

🧗 Belaying - Holding the Rope:

We require parents and guardians to stay and "belay" (meaning hold the rope) for their kids and other adults:

  • We will teach each parent to hold the rope for kids; called "belaying"

  • Belayers do not need to be strong, as they do not hold the weight of the climber

  • Only 12 year olds or above can belay, we can make exceptions for experienced kids from our courses

  • If parents cannot stay, we recommend a ratio of 4 climbers to 1 assisting adult belayer

⚠️Safety & Supervision:

  • We induct and brief all participants on gym safety, etiquette and using equipment including belaying

  • Safety rules are explained at the start of the session

  • All harnesses are checked before climbing commences

  • All climbing activities are supervised by trained staff and covered by insurance

  • Climbing shoes are required

👩‍🎓 Beginner and kids rock climbing classes:

  • Yes. We have Perth's more structured and documented beginner indoor rock climbing program, based on ClimbWell's training model and aligned with WA Education's curriculum. We teach kids from 4 years, up to WA's and National Climbing Sports competitors

  • We run home school and school holiday programs that align with WA Education curriculum

🥳 Do you fascilitate birthday parties:
