Oasis OSHC Program Details

At Oasis Climbing, our OSHC programs are structured to WA Department of Education curriculum standards, and our premises is maintained for all required safety standards, with space for kids' personal items, a food and rest area; and we will adjust music and volume to your needs. We are here to make it a fun, safe, and memorable experience for your outside of school hours centre.

Our Curriculum is designed, by ClimbWell to WA Dept of Education standards, and staff are trained to work with children 6 years and up.

​​OSHC Session:

  • 3hr supervised sessions for 8 to 30 children, all equipment included
    Sessions include a dedicated space and instructor for each group, we can handle 2 concurrent sessions

Walls & Facilities:

  • 10.5m high walls, with approx 20 stations for child suitable climbs

  • 5m height, 80 sqm of bouldering with approx 20 child suitable climbs
     

  • Quiet lounge area with couches, tables 12m x 10m where kids can keep their belongings

  • Mezzanine area with cafe style tables and seats for 26 people 12m x 5m

  • Kitchen with oven and fridges and basic amenities for you to bring drinks and food

  • Toilets are available and we recommend a supervisor or carer coordinate toilets and meal breaks

  • Free Bus parking available on Harris Rd without restriction on size or duration

  • Music volume and style is adjusted for each group

Lessons & Inclusions:

  • Dedicated instructor who will support your function and fasilitate an appropriate lesson, 
    complexity will depend on the group's average skill level

  • Your group will be allocated a commited space for the children to rest, bags and eat

  • Entry for all carers, teachers and their guests in included in the price,

  • All gear and equipment is included in the price

Available time slots:

  • Weekend Morning Session:  10:30 am – 1:30 pm

  • Weekend Afternoon Session: 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm

  • Custom times are available by pre-arrangement 
    (between 8:00 am to 8:00pm weekdays, 9:00 am to 5:00pm weekends) 

Carers:

  • Our staff will induct the careers and support and oversee the sessions, Carers are briefed and inducted for belaying, and will be required to belay but not climb

  • Carers and Oasis staff can belays (hold the rope) for kids, usually with a lineup for kids to take a rest

Documentation is maintained and available for WA Department of Education compliance, including:

  • Appendix D Compliance Response

  • Insurance Certificate of Currency

  • Emergency Response Plan

  • Emergency Evacuation Plan

  • Safety & Risk Management Plans

  • Education Program Planning Framework

  • Participation Agreement & Acknowledgment of Risk

  • Disclosure of staff compliance and certificates WwC / First Aid​

Pricing:

  • $20 per child - billed on the commited booking number (includes all gear included)

  • $100 booking fee - venue hire time-slot and instructor up to 20 climbers *
    For each additional 10 climbers, add $100 for an additional dedicated instructor

  • $Free - careres, guests and non-climbers are free to assist and spectate

 

* Your booking fee is non-refundable as it secures your hire spot and rostering your instructor.

Billing:

  • Sessions are invoiced to the OSHC based on committed participants for the course

  • Formal invoices will be issues at the completion of session with standard terms

  • Payment via bank deposit

Safety and Construction Standards:

  • Rope climbing and safety procedures defined by the Climbers Association of WA (CAWA)

  • Equipment and configuration standards as defined by UIAA Safety Standards;

  • Premises aligns with Australian Standard AS 2293 and is compliant and checked regularly to meet City of Swan Public Building Compliance DA-197/2011

Safety & Supervision:

  • We induct and brief all participants on gym safety, etiquette and using equipment

  • Safety rules are explained at the start of the program and as needed

  • All harnesses are checked before climbing commences

  • All climbing is fully supervised by trained staff under full insurance cover

  • Climbing shoes required (included in the price of your program)
