Oasis School Program Details
At Oasis Climbing, our school programs are structured to WA Department of Education curriculum standards, and our premises is maintained for all required safety standards for Appendix D requirements. We hope to make your students education for exciting and safe and memorable and to build individual skills and teamwork.
School Course Options:

School Curriculum:

The Curriculum is designed, documented and updated by ClimbWell
-
Coaches have over 20hrs of training and instructional materials for class facilitation
-
Programs are each designed and structured to for 4 to 10 week programs

Drop-ins are lesson structure will be determined on the day by the coach, depending on the group's average skill level and available time

Compliance with Department of Education WA, CAWA Safety Policies, UIAA equipment standards

Testing is conducted in a close-to-school manner, markings done by Oasis Staff and submitted to teachers
Teacher Inductions and Support:

Teachers are briefed and inducted for belaying, but are not required to belay or climb
- Oasis Coaches facilitate inductions and safety briefings, as well as student testing
- All materials, booklets, pencils provided by Oasis

Drop-in sessions - $12 per student / per session
If you're wanting less than 4 sessions for your group, we recommend booking this session. We will adapt each lesson to the needs of the group and ensure that each session is educational, exciting, and safe.-

Outcomes based curriculum (OBC) - $14 per student / per session
Our fantastic top-rope program is a popular choice for dozens of schools around Perth. Each OBC takes the students through a "fill in the blank" style booklet along with a quiz on the final session. Students will complete the written part of the session in the first 10-15 minutes then use the remainder of the time for climbing.-

Lead Climbing Course - $14 per student / per session
As lead climbing carries a higher risk, we take great care to ensure the safety of each student. We cannot guarantee that students will be capable of independently lead climbing by the end of the course, however they will learn the fundamental principles of safe lead climbing in this program.-
Pre-requisite - all students must have successfully completed an OBC course previously

Billing:

Sessions are invoiced to the school based on committed participants for the course

Formal invoices will be issues at the completion of programs with standard terms

Safety and Construction Standards:

Rope climbing and safety procedures defined by the Climbers Association of WA (CAWA)

Equipment and configuration standards as defined by UIAA Safety Standards;

Premises aligns with Australian Standard AS 2293 and is compliant and checked regularly to meet City of Swan Public Building Compliance DA-197/2011
Safety & Supervision:

Our school sessions are perfect for year 6+

We induct and brief all participants on gym safety, ettiquette and using equipments
-
Safety rules are explained at the start of the program and as needed

All harnesses are checked before climbing commences

All climbing is fully supervised by trained staff under full insurance cover

Climbing shoes required (included in the price of your program)
