Oasis Sunset Sends Community Event: How it started

This season began with huge momentum as we prepared to host Sport Climbing Western Australia for the Lead State Titles 2025. When the event was unexpectedly cancelled just three weeks out, the disappointment across the climbing community was immediate, and we felt it just as strongly. But instead of stepping back, we stepped up.We launched our own event: Oasis Sunset Sends.

A full-scale competition for the community

Pulling together a full-scale competition in three weeks is no small task. It meant organising sponsors, rostering staff, coordinating volunteers, and transforming the gym. Our team worked massive days: two full days of hold washing, sorting thousands of bolts and screws, refurbishing volumes, and setting 25 competition-grade climbs designed to challenge and excite competitors. And every bit of effort was worth it.

Thanks to our incredible team and community

We could not have achieved this without the dedication of our staff, volunteers, setters, supporters, and the wider Oasis community. You showed up with heart, grit and passion, and together you turned a cancelled event into something unforgettable.

This was our first competition, but without a doubt, it won’t be our last.Planning is already underway to make Sunset Sends 2026 even bigger, smoother, and more exciting.

Thank you for being part of Oasis history. 🌅🧗‍♂️✨
